Their experience in safety driven industries throughout the world has resulted in a fundamental vision for Southern Steel Engineering that has Safety, Quality and Honesty at its core.

Welding automation has been used successfully for 40 plus years but it was only in recent times that equipment cost and technology have enabled piping contractors and fabricators to incorporate these systems into site based projects where portability and setup times were once an issue. 

Meet Jacob Ayers.

Jacob has worked alongside piping & welding contractors, and welding equipment manufactures, to introduce new and advanced welding systems. This approach has resulted in a solid foundation to execute welding projects. Understanding the variables and reducing the risk will provide the clients with the best solutions for their projects.

As a tradesman first and foremost Jacob has travelled the world as a welder working in Australia, Asia, Europe, and New Zealand on some of the most respected projects in oil and gas. As the experience developed he progressed as a welding supervisor to welding manager through to welding inspection and quality control.

Not content with an office job at all, Jacob is most likely to be found with a welding helmet on supervising a difficult out-of-position pipe weld.
